What is this? Thoughts on pouch

What are one's thoughts me I think this is post war or a crudely cheap made piece for early reenacting years currently on eBay I'm not buying it but it's discussed in other groups

Mint Julep nailed it. It's an original cap box. It had the small 39 cartridge box plate on it at one time. I'm not sure of the true history of these, but I suspect the box plate was a Bannerman addition. Though it's original, it's not an item I'd buy for my CW leather gear collection, namely due to condition plus the plate addition. The plate would add considerable value just for what the plate is. As is I'd be surprised if a retailer could fetch $75 for it. Decent condition boxes of this type go for $125ish, (no interior wool), up to $250 in excellent condition with all interior components. @iron bender is dead nuts on, these were Bannerman put togethers, using an original surplus US cap box, I must have 5 or six running around here.
