How common were the black chevrons in the A.N.V or were the most commonly A.O.T?

A perusal of some of the coats in EOG, CS, shows that the number of jackets attributed to NCOs breaks down this way

No Insignia.....3 (one AOT, two ANV)
Black insignia.....1 (Thomas Taylor 8th Louisiana Infantry Montgomery Depot jacket with sgt stripes)
Colored Insignia... 2(John W. Lester Frock, 10th Georgia Inf with YELLOW 1st Sgt Stripes; Henry Redwood RD3 with Red Stripes)

All units fought in the ANV, but Taylor served for a time in the Montgomery Quartermaster Department, where his jacket was made.
