“From the stone wall to the gate there were ten stands of colors “
Great quote from July 3rd, has anyone seen it before, I am looking for who attribute it to. Who said it?

For the best accounting of CS flags in the Gettysburg Campaign please find a copy of the out of print book - "The Damned Red Flags of the Rebellion," by the late Richard Rollins. Lots of details for each flag taken there.

Hello,

This is the blood stained flag of the 26th North Carolina Troops who lost 14 color bearers on July 1, 1863 at Willoughby Run west of Gettysburg going up against the Iron Brigade. Includied in this count was their boy colonel, Henry Burgwyn.

On a related note, I've never understood how the 8th Ohio ended up with one of Picketts flags.
