Canteen Identification

I would like a second opinion on the identification of these canteens. Although I do have some knowledge of Civil War items I am by no means an expert, which is why I am turning to your forum.

#1 - Saw fine example of this canteen on the internet recently, sold as a medical canteen, that had the original strap holders, but no straps. Mine as you can see had had a field repair/soldiers repair, where speed and functionality was more prudent that aesthetics. Measurements are as follows: H- apx.8 1/2, W apx. 7 3/4. D- apx, 2 ½.

#2 - Pumpkinseed canteen, dated unknown, pattern unknown, original canvas strap, missing original stopper? Old cork has age, does not look original. Dent on the front, two dent on the back, soldering looks intact, has nice patina.

#3-US smooth side canteen, repurposed for Indian wars? In its long career, it had a field repair on the spout, but as found condition Looks to have a wool covering under the canvas. U.S. is a little faded, normal wear on canvas, stitching is original and all intact.

#4- Small Bullseye canteen, H-6 in. W-6 in. D-1 3/8 in. Remnants of original linen cover, original leather strap, complete, but delicate, One website mentioned it might be an officers canteen?
Any recommendation on where to find the values of these would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

The first canteen is most likely an oil container repurposed at a later date with galvanized wire.

The second canteen is most likely an IW state issue, the two piece spout and very fragile flexible triangle sling loops, do not appear in any federal contract or retrofit. Might also be for a military school.

Third canteen as you have assessed, is an ACW canteen retrofitted for subsequent use in IW period.

The fourth appears to be a cowboy canteen complete with screw top.

A nice collection of canteens.
