I was looking on amazon for civil war stuff and ran across an item that was interesting, but I'm not to sure about. It's Commemorative Mint set which includes : Gold Layered Gettysburg Quarter, honors the site of the Battle of Gettysburg in the Civil War on July 1-3, 1863 Stamp honoring the battle of Shiloh and Genuine bullet recovered from a Civil War Battle Site All presented in a collectors display box for 20 bucks!......... It's the "Genuine bullet recovered from a Civil War Battle Site" that has me thinking. A REAL bullet from a battle site among other things for $20.00?? can this be real??

Yes, it can be real. It is up to you if it is worth $20. In the Civil War shops down here "real" bullets can be as little as a dollar. Identified bullets a little more to a lot more. How much the stamp, coin and display are worth is up to you. Living in Maryland you are probably close to nice shops where you could make your own personalized display if you wanted to take the time and effort. If you lived in South Dakoda it would be quite a bit harder.

I was wondering kinda the same thing , I buy online for around $25 for a bullet that was dug up from a farm house beside the battle site at Spotsylvania ,Virginia ,, for me I don't care how rusty or small a civil war item is ,I just love collecting them

Yes I'm sure it's real. I bought the same thing in Gettysburg for 10.00

It's very good that you came here to ask for advice. Let me just say this: 20 bucks is doable regardless of the item's authenticity. If it ends up being a fake, one can withstand that loss for the money paid. However, if you get deeper into collecting and feel like dumping more money into an item or items it is "Buyer Beware" to the fullest!! There are folks on this web site that have literally offerred to give real Minnie balls away for free! So be careful and continue to ask and question. Good luck!

Did they say the bullet came from Gettysburg battlefield? You might want documentation to authenticate it as the Park is closed to metsl detecting.
Last year i bought a bullet from the Gettysburg Museum --- a commercial store & not the Park's museum. The bullet was collected from Devil's Den before the NPS purchased the land. I paid $40+ for the bullet & display.
