Can anyone identify this spur?

I've posted on a couple of other forums, but no real answers. One person looked in the Baird spur book and didn't find it.

I have not been able to find anyone with Crouch's book.

The neck is different than any I've really seen and doesn't really match up to 1859 or 1885 models.

I have Crouch's book and have a few items that are published in it. I don't believe its a Union issue spur. Its not of the Allegheny pattern or any others I have seen. It does have an interesting neck. I have dug many from both sides. One thing you have to remember is that most men who rode a horse had spurs. The pattern tells me it was Northern made as Southern spurs had a more rounded strap end and a square type neck. Where was it found?

Consensus so far is that it's a civilian spur. Still a cool find for me though!

If it is Southern, officers bought their own uniforms and accouterments. Spurs would have been something they brought from home.
