Another old time cabbage dish that is easy to make and delicious. This is one from my Granny. Was very popular during the Depression.

Cabbage Casserole

1 lb. ground meat
1 onion
salt and pepper
1 can tomato soup
1/2 can water
1 small cabbage, cut up
1 cup rice

Brown meat and onions. Drain. Put into casserole and add salt, pepper, tomato soup, water, cabbage and rice. Stir until well mixed. Bake 2 hours at 350 degrees.

Sounds like a great meal for a cold day! I immediately imagined it to be like cabbage rolls, but a casserole variety rather than many single rolls baked in a dish. MrsMRB sometimes puts shredded cheese on our cabbage rolls before baking in the tomato sauce...yum!
