Whats the best way to break in brogans, like how they seem to form to your feet?

Who manufactured your brogans??......From what I have researched, it depends on the maker.
Thirteen years ago, I bought a pair of Fall Creek brogans. I soaked them in water overnight, then wore them at home for several days. Once they dried, I oiled them. After 13 years, I now need a new pair and they were a comfortable shoe!.....On the other hand, I know a guy who wore his brand new pair of brogans (I don't know who made that pair) through a creek at Gettysburg......they fell apart and became worthless......
Now that I need new brogans, I think I may order from Fugawee, who claims that theirs do not need to be soaked in water first.
I think different people will have different experiences and will advise you accordingly.
Good luck!

The brogans shown are an original pair from the Civil War.

Below are the Fall Creek version. Not a very good facsimile, IMO. Maybe that's why they have to be soaked.

I like MBS or Sekela now , myself. I used to wear Robert Land and they didn't cost much more.

MO Boot and Shoe are my go to. I called them up and they said really the best way to fit in them is to wear them. However, what's special about MO Boot and Shoe is that they require you to do measurements on your feet, then when you send them your measurements they hand craft the shoe to fit your feet. One big no no is heating them next to a fire if the are wet. Many people I see do this but NEVER do that. Let them air dry, they will last you a lot longer.

There is some good advice here. Over the best part of 20 years in the hobby I have owned brogans from several makers to include Fugawee though my best were a set made custom by a local cobbler due to my wonky leg. He used a rubber sole instead of leather upon my request and they are comfortable enough & pass the 10' rule.

When it comes to brigand I will always suggest Missouri Boot & Shoe. No.other vendor stands behind their product like they do. Their quality is second to none. IMO when it comes to firearms, footwear & women you do get what you pay for.
