Thought I'd share my Bloody Lane photo. I don't know why I like it so much. Maybe it's because it was an awesome trip. My brother had researched the 14th Regiment's role at Sharpsburg, where they were located, etc. We found our GGG-Grandfather's grave in a cemetery at Shepherdstown on this same trip. He was part of the 14th and was mortally wounded in Bloody Lane. Jamie and Puzzle are just down from where the 14th was located, the bronze plaques are next to the tree.

Nice pic, PJs. Is it me, or do the slopes on Breastworks etc. seem much more sloped than they did in period pics?

The slope on the walls of the lane are not very steep now, possibly from erosion over the years. Note this photo taken closer to the monument in the photo.
