I'm new.to the South and love the proximity to so many battlefields. However my family isn't nearly as interested. Anyone know where group trips are planned or how you can join one? I'm in South Carolina but willing to travel.

Each year we have a CivilWarTalk official muster. The next one will be at Stones River/Franklin in Oct 2022. However there are trips that are done thru other organization that our members do. In fact at @lelliott19 just got back from one they did on Longstreet. We love to get together and explore different battlefields and talk CW.

Oh great ill.keep my eyes open for those. Thank you

There are Civil War Roundtable discussion groups all over the country. Professor Google can help you find one local to your area.

Being involved with one of them will put you in the loop on battlefield trips they often organize. There are also brigade-specific organizations all over the place that organize trips from time to time.

As others have said, keeping an eye on CivilWarTalk here will get you a good battlefield trip at least once a year, maybe more.
