Normally I would snap up a book that is heavy with soldier accounts but this one looks to be focused on images rather than words. I could not find any substantive reviews of it that would change my mind. I won't say I would never buy it but I will wait until it hits the used book market or bargain bin. Until then I will take a pass and buy 2 books of more value to me personally. Thanks for bringing it to our attention though! Never hurts to check out a new book!

Another book on the burg.just what we need.when I get finished reading the 5,000+ books already out there this one might be down in price and worth reading but not in my immediate plans.

A bit pricey for me to order today! Ya' know, though, the internet has in many ways overshadowed information from the printed page, but there is still something I like about holding a book to read. Having bookshelves containing my favorite read and reference material. After owning some of these books for over thirty years, I can still lose hours at a time in them. ...And spend hours on the LOC site, looking at Civil War images. At some point these vintage images cease to be new and become compilations of what others have printed over and over. I suppose as long as a market exists and thrives through sales, this is likely to continue over and over.

At $75.00 a pop, it'll soon make it to the "bargain-bins !!!"
