Antietam Reenactment

I didn't know there was an Antietam/Sharpsburg reenactment, much less one in 2020. Glad to see it!

I can't help but notice a lot of screwed up drill, (if they spent two or three hours drilling before the battle instead of thirty minutes to an hour they wouldn't have that problem), but all that aside, even it being a smaller looking event, I'd go up there and attend if I could.

Just got to follow up on what I said about there being an Antietam event. Just remembered I've heard of the event several times, including one of the most awesome ghost stories that I've retold elsewhere on the site.

I have no idea why I forgot that....

Thanks for the video. Would've liked to support this one, made it to their last event but couldn't make this one. It's a great location with a lot of potential and thankful they put on a couple events this year. Look forward to future events there.

it was pretty funny when i was there the yanks were "supposed" to push the rebels back to the tree line. but the yanks didnt want to move one bit. so the rebels brought the fight to them.

I've been wondering the exact same thing.

Could be inspired by some first hand account, misinterpretation of an account, or and most likely I bet they think it looks cool.

well i was there and our captain had ordered us to fire on the move. maybe it will look good or maybe it was to do something different then the same thing or maybe it was up the each person to do it. I know me personal i was firing on the move.
