Ammunition Identification

I was gifted these three bullets along with some other Civil War artifacts. I don't know the type of these or even if it's the right era. They are hefty so makes me think they are leaden. Also smaller than rifled musket bullets.

The one on the right is definitely not since it is jacketed. The other two look doubtful.......

What is the diameter? The middle looks a little like a Sharps & Hankins .52 (M&M 176) or maybe .54 Burnside. First one I don't know

All 3 are post war. I go along with @Package4 on the jacketed one and the other 2 appear to have post war lands & grooves.

IMHO, the one on the right is a Gov't .45 ACP, and the others are probably cast lead hand loads for the same round. The .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) was used in the Colt 1911, Colt M-1917, and Smith & Wesson M-1917, among others.

I'll have to measure to know for sure. I can take a comparison shot with my other ammo as well.

The one on the left favors a shotgun slug. But there are rifling marks on it.

The 2 lead ones have beveled bases. 45acp would be a good guess.

I would say tow are lead .45 ACP bullets the third looks like it could be a military issue .45 ACP round, or a full jacketed round.

yeah I would call them all modern .45 ACP bullets, on the 2 lead ones the lube has likely dried out and flaked out of the lube groove (common on different lubes)

Figured I would follow up since I said I would, even though the consensus is trending. Here are the comparisons.

Thinking the ones on the right are Army Colt .44 and .58 Minie. I'm willing to be corrected, though.

Correct, the two on the right are Minies (hard to tell .54 from .58 by photo) and the other is for all intents and purposes a .44 Colt Army. I still stand by the three on the left being .45 ACP.
