My Uncle recently went on a dig to Port Hudson, and he gave me some of his findings. Since these are some of my first items in my collection, I would appreciate some information on how to store and handle them, as well as some information on what they actually are.

Storage and handling is easy. Store them any way you like. As evidenced by their condition after being buried in the ground since the ACW, bullets are very resilient. As far as handling goes, just wash your hands well after handling so as to avoid ingesting any old lead.
As far as what they are, the small one looks to be a .44cal pistol bullet, the balls are, well, musket balls and the others look like typical 3 ring minie balls. The ones that are "smooshed" or "mushroomed" were fired and hit something hard like a rock which caused them to deform while the other ones were most likely dropped. Nice acquisition for a new collection!
