Hello, I'm new here.
I've been reading Shelby Foote's Civil War Narrative, and I recall in one part he describes Lincoln taking his son to a place where they could look across a river or something and see Confederate soldiers.
I don't have the book with that scene in it with me, so I was wondering if anyone knew when that happened. I think it was around the time of the Battle of Chancellorsville, but I'm not sure.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
