Hello everyone I was hoping you could help me with this I bought this rifle as a beat up reproduction for a loaner for my unit As I began to clean it and inspect further I found prove matks and stamps that indicate t his may be a real enfield Any help would be really appreciated

It may well be but with the VR under the crown it was not imported during the Civil War. The VR is the royal crown mark and was NOT put on CW imports to the US.

Some of the components like the lock may be British made, but the gun in its current configuration was likely assembled in Afghanistan.
