MLE 1857

Got this lock cleaned up. Most of the stamps were hidden under the gunk. Has anyone ever seen
a lockplate with this many stamps? It has all of its original parts owing to the 14 stamps on each one.

I see you have a good number of stamps also. My MLE 1857 stamp is on the inside. Wonder why that is?

The lock plates were never stamped with m1857 on the outside.
Only the breech plug was stamped m1857.
