Attic find, from a building disassembled (@20 years ago) adjacent the mud march route in VA.

Nope, but I can get them in due course. Save for the hammer, the weapon appears to be complete as-issued and with the same patina of neglect all over.

nb. The aforementioned full-length 'Poop Forge' barrel is not associated with the Mystery Hammer M1816 and is available, for those needing one for a rebuild.

No, that seemed to have disappeared with corrosion.

I like them with that type bolster conversion.

The percussion conversion is actually a "drum conversion", which is a cylinder screwed into the barrel. The term is derived from the resemblance to a "field drum". Bolster conversions were actually brazed to the barrel and had a fence behind the nipple to protect the stock wood. They would often resemble a M-1842 bolster.

This is an 1816 top band, right? Dug from an 1862 CSA camp near Fredericksburg VA, looks useable for someone restoring a beater/barn gun.

This barrel band, with the "S" shaped side wall makes it either a Model 1840 (aka M-1835/40) or a Model 1842 Musket front band.
