On July 26, 1863, Sam Houston died in Huntsville, Texas and John Crittenden died in Frankfort, Kentucky.

First bonus: On September 17, 1978, President Jimmy Carter, First Lady Rosalynn Carter, Egyptian President Anwar El Sadat, and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin visited Gettysburg.

Edit - September 17 was the date when the Camp David Accords were signed, but the visit to Gettysburg occurred some time earlier.

Bonus: September 10th 1978, President Jimmy Carter visited LRT with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. The question asks for 4 dignitaries so also present were the Presidents wife and daughter and Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan, Israeli Defence Minister Ezer Weizman and a load more hangers on, American, Israeli and Egyptian.

Thanksgiving Bonus: Got me baffled for now, will try and get back to it.

Sam Houston (1793-1863) and John J. Crittenden (1787-1863) both died July 26, 1863, the day Morgan surrendered at Salineville, Ohio.

President Jimmy Carter made two tours of Gettysburg in 1978. On july 6, the party included his wife, Ms. Rosalynn Carter and author Shelby Foote. On September 9, 1978, the President and his family returned for another tour of the battlefield, this time with Egyptian President Anwar Sadat, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan.

Thanksgiving Bonus: Two monuments, 1st Maryland (Co.A. Purnell Legion) Cavalry & 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry, both located in East Cavalry Battlefield Gettysburg have an error common to both of them. What is the err?

Both monuments appear to portray cavalrymen armed with Model 1860 Spencer Repeating Carbines which were not issued until later in 1863.

Sam Houston and John J Crittenden on July 26, 1863

Bonus: "Bob Prosperi was a young National Park Service Technician (Park Tech) on July 5, 1978 when he received a phone call to take President Jimmy Carter, First Lady Rosalynn Carter, and author Shelby Foote on a tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield the next day July 6, 1978.
The tour went well, and Prosperi was requested by President Carter to give another tour on September 9, 1978. This tour was held in the midst of Carter's Camp David Summit, and the participants included not only the Carter family, but President of Egypt Anwar Sadat, Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan."

Thanksgiving Bonus: ?

.....And With Shelby Foote, of Course

Edit - The question also asked for the date when the dignitaries gathered. Foote accompanied Carter to Gettysburg at a different time.

Not finding any sites listing errors on either of the listed monuments. They are placed correctly, show the right command, don't appear to show any obvious spelling errors so .....? Some do note the Spencer rifle on the Purcell monument (none say it's wrong, just note it) and it looks like a similar rifle on the 3rd monument - so I will take a wild guess and say the rifle on each monument is erroneous.

Neither are what I would call typical cavalry monuments
