George Kennedy McGunnegle (23 June 1854 - 17 January 1938)
Source for Temporary Command Dept of Hawaii
His father was Wilson McGunnegle (1829 - 1863) who commanded the USS St Louis at least temporarily during the Civil War. His daughter was Isabel Ray McGunnegle Sheridan Perkins (1885-1958) who was married to Philip Henry Sheridan (1880-1918), son of the famous general by the same name. Find A Grave

Edit - Paulding was one of the commanders of the USS St. Louis, but Isabel Paulding Pope was a woman's maiden name. She was the daughter of an Episcopal clergyman named Richard Duffield Pope, and she married a man named Edwin Griffith. I can't find any connection between Isabel Paulding Pope and the Civil War naval commander.
