I know this one!!! Quote is from General William Tecumseh Sherman, and "he" in the quote is General Ulysses S. Grant.

I did go through several pages of googling without result (all secondary sources) to try to find an original source for this quote. Accounts of when Sherman said this are contradictory. Did it really happen, or is this more ACW mythology??? I hope not, because I like the quote!
