HF We lost another Gods and Generals actor

Historical-Fiction
Hated to hear it, but it was gonna happen eventually.

Growing up I wanted to be like Duvall's Gus Mcrea. Unfortunately that didn't happen, but hey my boss calls me Woodrow Call every time I get on to someone and an old man runs off to HR to complain about me hurting they're feelings when they got rude.

Whether as a real jerk in Joe Kid, Lucky Ned Pepper, Gus Mcrea, or even Robert E. Lee, Duvall could bring any character to life.

Sad but true. That's how I feel about Clint Eastwood

On a side note, for any horror fans, Duvall played a priest in the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Dang, this one stings.

They could not have casts a better 'Lucky' Ned Pepper and Captain Augustus McRae (and they tried on both counts!)

He was great in Geronimo, Joe Kidd and Open Range, as well.

"By god, Woodrow - It's been quite a party, ain't it?"

"Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago..."

For some reason I always forget about Ned Pepper ... :D

After filming "Second Hand Lions" Duvall and Michael Caine became good friends. If any of you haven't seen that film you're missing some great acting by two giants of the industry.
Sorry I said "after the filming", I meant "during the filming". Caine must have had a good voice coach. Notice how he sounds "Texan" instead of British.
