Here is a my newly acquired "Dog River Saber"
This is my first true Southern made blade.
It is attributed to being a Haiman Brothers product of Columbus GA. It has the unstoppable fuller and the wrapped grip is dyed pig skin secured in place with single-strand iron wire. The guard has a little side to side play and the leather washer is missing in action. The scabbard has also been lost to time.

Nice looking Dog River. Could you post a photo of the pommel cap looking down at it? Thanks

Very nice. I will probably never be able to afford one but I love looking at them. That room is amazing and I especially like the picture of Cleburne at Franklin. Thanks for showing.
Thanks! That Troiani is my favorite. The other one is above my desk showing the fighting that took place at the Carter House.
I do have another one of General Cleburne at Franklin by Rick Reeves hanging above my National Guard print of Teddy Roosevelt leading his men up San Juan Hill.

Here it is looks as little bit darker because of the lighting in this picture.

I lighted up the photos. It looks like the blade has been removed from the handle and a resto of the wrap was done. The top of the blade that is hammered down to attach it to the guard and tighten it up has been ground down in order to remove the blade. It should look like the photos below. How long is the blade?

It should look like these 2 Haiman's.

Who is that guy that looks like Bibendum raising his glass in toast on top of your bureauesque thingy and if that is him, how many stars has he given your collection?
