New Pedersoli Lorenz

Nice looking piece. Oh you reenactor's and your toys.:D I can by a new metal detector for what the musket cost.

The last time I checked the Euro was in our favor, something like $0.83 to the dollar! If the production product is improved from the prototype, as was stated, and it is even remotely affordable.....I'm in!

Looks nice, wonder what it weighs and exactly how much drop the stock has. I have a hard time shooting straight stocks like the Enfield.

The drop in the stock on the original Lorenz muskets is 2.0". I did like how the video explained that it was the prototype musket and that they were going to correct the front sight base. It seems as if they have put a lot of effort into this product, probably because I suspect most of the sales will be to the European market. It is interesting that they have used American Walnut for the stock.

Thanks, so a little more drop than the 53 but not as much as a Springfield?

Yes, the drop for a M-1861 Springfield is 2.5". The original Lorenz muskets I have shouldered have been fairly comfortable. I just hope they don't make the cheek piece too big. I think that would make it uncomfortable.

Hi, all! :D

Just saw this new video from Capandball on YouTube. It shows the new for 2017 Pedersoli Lorenz rifle musket. Pretty cool!

Just thought you guys would be interested in seeing a new repro on the market. Take care!

Earl
Flintlocksetc. today quoted $1795 cost for new Lorenz. Thank you.

Well, that's not really a great pricing point for a reproduction to shoot blanks at a reenactment. I suppose they will come down in price in time as supply catches up with demand. There is pent up demand for the Lorenz right now, but the $1795 price (if that is correct) is going to discourage all but the hardcore Lorenz enthusiasts and some of those will still probably opt for an original. I mean, that's what I would do at that price.
