Impressions Zouaves

Does anyone reenact Zouave regiments? If so, what are the reactions of the members of the public when they see the unusual uniforms? Some reenactors say that they encounter people who cannot correctly identify the war or side portrayed. What are the guesses, if any, for Zouaves?

Oh... Lol, Ken was my CO when I lived in SC. Great guy and fun to mess around with.
