Woopsie?

When one thinks about this incident; On International waters, British Captain had every right to refuse request and didn't, British suppliers of arms and goods to the Confederacy through neutral ports and the British Empire being almost constantly occupied at war somewhere around the globe. I don't think there was provocation enough to entice Britain to challenge the U.S.

Ah. Both countries lost a very fine diplomat when Queen Victoria began her mourning. Albert must have been as fine a man as ever prevented beginning another war. What an idiotic chapter on the part of both countries, and please, no one go straight up a wall on who had the right to do what. It was just silly with no legs to stand on, anywhere.

Mrs. V, for some reason the news source isn't stating the obvious, that it's a famous kefluffle of the era, " The Trent Affair ". No idea why it treats it as if someone discovered some little known side-story, you know? Funny! I'm a terrible person to discuss it only because it seemed so full of bluster- a lot of silliness, caught-with-pants-down-ness- and self serving nonsense. No one was right so everyone was willing to hold an entire, new war. Men, huh?
