Who was this general?

I came across this query in an old newsletter issue of a now-defunct Civil War Round Table. I did not find the answer on their site and my own research has not yielded an answer. Help!!

I am the wife of a Major General in the Confederate Army. I was not married to my husband at the time of the war. I was my husband's 2nd wife and so I am not buried with my husband, but I am buried in a very prominent Cemetery. Many people may not realize I am buried there as none of my children by the General are buried at this cemetery. A huge hint if you want to find my grave, I am at site 1936 in this prominent D.C. Area Cemetery. Who am I and who was my famous husband?

I am the editor of The Runner, newsletter of the Cape Fear Civil War Round Table. I like to include tidbits like this in the newsletter.

The answer seems to be Gideon Pillow and his second wife, Mary Dickson Pillow, but was he really a major general in the CS army?

No. He was a brigadier general in the Confederate army but a major general in the Tennessee militia.

Polloco is right it's Gideon Pillow but now Gideon was only a Confederate Brigadier General.
