Who is John A. Dicks

I found this letter (click on link above) dated May 15, 1895 in Moms Cedar Chest, apparently it is a reply to a letter written by Martin Bryant asking about his comrades he served with in the Civil War. I would like to find out more about John A. Dicks, he lived on the corner of Oak & Union St. ( photo on letterhead) Natchez, Mississippi. This is not Major- General John A. Dix .

One of the commanders of the UCV in the the early 20th century, was from Mississippi.. Maybe it was his home ?

This may be him :

John Allen Dicks, Jr

Residence Natchez MS; 16 years old.

Enlisted on 3/1/1862 at Natchez, MS as a 2nd Lieutenant.

On 3/1/1862 he was commissioned into "E" Co. LA 4th Battn Infantry
He was Surrendered on 5/4/1865


Other Information:
born 9/18/1845 in Natchez, MS
died 3/9/1914 in Natchez, MS
Buried: Natchez City Cemetery, Natchez, MS

After the War he lived in Natchez, MS

Oh, BTW, Fold3 has another file under name John G. Dicks but when I view one of the records it has the name James G. Dicks.
