Whitworth Rifle Scope?

I didn't recognise it as a scope associated with Whitworth rifles, or any other rifle. I couldn't find anything about 'J&H Rifle Scopes London' either.

The expert has expressed his opinion and it's a resounding nyet.

I think I found the company. J&h Taylor from london

In it was a London firm, it would be in FULL on the scope with 'London' added underneath.. Any initials would be J&HT , with LONDON very near. The very word LONDON was the selling point.

Westley Richards was a famous Birminghan Gunmaker, yet he had an shop in New Bond Street LONDON. The name is still going, as is John Rigby (& Co) originally of Dublin at 72 St James's Street, LONDON and a number of other Irish and regional gunmakers too including Charles Lancaster and Holland & Holland. Why? So they could put LONDON on their sporting rifles and shotguns. LONDON meant quality.

This j h people didn't make scopes for firearms. Unfortunately the catalog is beyond a pay wall and I'm unwilling to look at it for photos for this curiousity.
