What happened to PCWA?

PCWA hosted a Gettysburg event last summer, apparently there were some issues? Since then their website hasnt been updated, their facebook page hasn't had mention of any plans or updates. I keep hearing that they somehow spent $100,000 on ice? Does anyone know what actually happened and why they imploded immediately after their only event? While I wasn't a fan of everything they did, I did applaud the attempt and at least trying to have authenticity guidelines for their event.

Of course, today the PCWA announced they will be doing a 165 Gettysburg. I guess the the time in between events is to save up for more ice?

It was their plan all along to do a big 5th year anniversary event and plan on doing another one for the 165th. 100,000$? I hadn't heard any number like that but they did lose money from what I hear. I know they had to truck in a bunch of gravel at the last minute to shore up the roads in and out because of all the wet weather during that time so everyone wouldn't get stuck. I was there, had a good time as well as everyone in my group. I hope they do it again.

I would wait for the 165th and avoid believing any rumors about this organization. The 160th was preceded by lots of misinformation put on social media prior to the event by certain folks in an attempt to discredit the organizers and discourage attendance. I found it to be one of the better run events of the 160th cycle and would support a PCWA 165th Gettysburg if they put one on.
