This has been going on for decades. Some people do it to mock religion, others do it so they can legally officiate a friend's wedding.

Not if you do the star whatever before you "dial" his number. Then he does the star whatever to find you. At that point, it's a battle of wills. As long as you block the number, you're good.

Unfortunately the Confederacy didn't have the same literacy strength as they did in the battlefields.

Bit of a shame though, that book was a good effort.

There's another book that attempted to be a Southern answer to Uncle Tom called Aunt Phillis's Cabin; or, Southern Life as It by Mary Henderson Eastman. It sold decently well but is not on the same literary level as Harriett Beecher Stowe.

No. I usually send them to voice mail. IF they have a legitimate message and are someone I want to talk with, I can call back. If not, it was SPAM or SCAM as far as I am concerned. I sometimes block numbers.

Star67. Your # won't pop up on their screen. I just got a new phone but don't want my mother to have my number (that way I can ward off drunken midnight calls). So after you call, REAL quick, block the number you JUST called. That way they won't be able to reach you. Alright, I have other top secret CIA phone tips if you need 'em, like don't drop a phone in your toilet.
