I'll wager that the "line" between Padraig and the Confederacy is a very blurred/indistinct one. In fact one can reasonably say it's non-existent. He's been seen at gatherings where a certain battle flag is prominently displayed. He's also identified by Identity Dixie as one of its authors. They advertise his book and feature blog posts with titles like "Understanding the Reverence for the Confederacy" containing the following:

"Dixie's history is more than the Confederacy, but Dixians cannot reject it or forget about it. Similar to the Shia and Irish strategies of remembering their defeats to maintain their identity, Dixians of the past have done the same, and we must follow in that path.
