Websites and blogs

Bull Runnings (https://bullrunnings.wordpress.com/) which focuses on the Battle of Bull Run.

Here is a pretty extensive list with summaries: https://bloggers.feedspot.com/civil_war_blogs/
I would like to point out one blog that is on that "pretty extensive list" which I personally have an issue with, and that is the blog "Student of the American Civil War". The blog is sometimes used to vent Al Mackey's TDS issues, which aren't really necessary when sharing the history of the Civil War with the general public, especially for newcomers in the field of history. I understand that "it is his blog and that he can post whatever he wants". However, I would NEVER recommend his blog to anyone, (whether they like the current President or not), based on those ridiculously ranting posts and his vicious attitude given in his reply when I messaged him about them.

A lot of my favorites have been posted so I'll add a few more. Not all of these are still active. But if you've never seen them then there's plenty of content.

Well, I was going to recommend that blog but, because I hadn't bookmarked it, I couldn't find the url. What I was going to say was that the writer is certainly partisan but that his essays are usually well documented and sourced (even the ones I disagreed with 🙂). It may be said that this blog is interesting not because one blindly accepts but because it is challenging.

I don't have a problem with visiting a website that may have views that differ from mine as long as they are within the context and scope of the material that the website claims to explore and share. That being said, using a website that claims to be about the American Civil War as a platform to express your vitriol of a current politician (and their supporters) is very deceptive and an obvious display of poor judgement. Visiting Civil War enthusiasts are being misled by the website's topic while contending with those unnecessary and irrelevant modern political rants that he has posted. He should have created another website where he could vent his political frustration. As I said before, I would never recommend his website to anyone. His modern political views expressed in some of his posts are absolutely void of any tact. But this is just my opinion.
