A woman who followed a camp and performed such duties as cooking and nursing. Some vivandieres also took up arms and went into battle.

fighting vivs

I have found scanty iinfo on vivs who went out on the field and fought on occasion. I do know they existed and did this but want to know if anyone has direct quotes or other info.
