Thank you, ma'am. It's been fun searching through my cd's and online photo albums. Most of my pictures are just closeups of battlefield monuments.

The photos are gorgeous. But I have to ask: Do people who live in or spend much time in these places ever get just a wee bit claustrophobic with all those trees??

Let me preface this by saying that my roots in Virginia are early (1600's) but my line has been gone from there for over 200 years. I have visited a few times including a couple visits to the land on which my ancestral relatives lived (an almost holy experience). Is it weird then that these pictures tug at my heart and almost make me feel "homesick"? Beautiful pictures - please post more!

I'm a VA native. Lived here my entire life I cannot imaging leaving. I love it

My buddy, Mike, said exactly the same thing 15 years ago when we first visited Virginia together. My wife wondered how hard it must have been to clear the land for farming back in the day.

I noticed that when walking alongside it. I couldn't tell where the river ended and dry land began.
