Commemorating the USCT's May 24, 1864 victory at Ft. Pocahontas over the Confederate Army. The USCTs were instrumental in building the fort and defending it. It's a little known history which is brought to life to the public only at this event on private property owned and preserved by the grand-son of a former president.

Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the US Colored Troops being discharged and the reuniting of families. Activities will include the discharge of men from the Bureau of Colored Troops and their reenlistment into Reconstruction era infantry and cavalry units, and a Freedmen's Bureau wedding ceremony.

The USCTLHA is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote and accurately interpret the history of the United States Colored Troops of the American Civil War and those that supported their effort to abolish slavery and preserve the Union. Additionally, the association seeks to educate the public and promote research of the history and legacy of those who served in the American Civil War.
