I know a lot of reenactors making jokes of what a disaster it'll be and how pointless it is on the short notice, "social distancing", and so on.

I'm here now, we'll see how it goes. From what I can tell we're fine to do whatever amongst our own group but asked to where some kind of face covering when in public areas and avoid any big formations among different groups.

If that were the case, in my part of the country that would mean only dismounted cavalry, REAL cavalry reenactors, and artillery could reenact.

With the dismounts running the show I've give them one event. All others afterwards would be uninsurable...

I had gotten a message about this. They are having one in September as well. What they need to do is get a whole bunch of flesh tone masks for folks..or havelocks!

Its occurred to me, that you literally can't have a reenactment with facemasks. Its not possible because one must bite their cartridge open to load their weapons.

It is a bit late to make this one, but there will be one in Gettysburg in mid September and how this one goes may well impact the mid September reenactment.

I hope this goes well. We all need to get back to some sort of normal ( if you call this normal). Just being around other like minded people is good in any form. I personally think the future of this hobby is going to be FUBU,like most Campaigner events. The Country as it is now aside from virus concerns is too politically sensitive by people who haven't a clue about history and what exactly they are ticked off about. Even after the vaccine is on line and the health concerns abate that will continue.
