Uniform

Can anyone help me with this uniform. The seller states it is from Civil War, I feel that it is well after the CW, but I am a novice collector.

Phil it is a uniform from a military school, probably West Point. They do not change much over the years and this general style is still worn up to today. I will try to research this more.

Phil I an already seeing problems with this being a cadet uniform from the Civil War era. Tentatively I see it as being about 1900 or later. Perhaps some one who actually knows about cadet uniforms will answer. I believe the yellow stripes on the lower sleeves were not used during the Civil War era and were added some where around 1900.
