Privates P. W. Powell and S. B. Payne of Company "F" (3rd) 5th Virginia Cavalry Regiment were both reported as "Missing" after the battle of the Wilderness in 1864.
I know that Missing doesn't always mean "Missing In Action" as the modern term suggests but were these two men truly Missing? Where they taken prisoner?
