Tire Blowouts

I blew a tire today. It got me wondering about a metal tire going on a wagon. We're support wagons and extras brought along when mov8ng troops?
The Thread below covered a good bit of what your asking. One of my favorite comments in the thread was by @Rhea Cole when he said, "Artillery batteries were traveling crafts fairs."

The simple answer is yes. For example, the cason that carried ammunition for every gun in a battery had a spare wheel & a spare limber pole.

The battery wagon carried spare spokes, fellows & a hub.
