Thoughts on this Wrist breaker I think Ames sword. Thanks. Looks like its been polished.

Definitely has been cleaned. The grip looks to have been re-wrapped. Are you looking to buy it?

Agree, it certainly has been polished and I think had the grip rewrapped. But it is original and what it does have going for it is the early date, amongst the first years issued and early enough for the War with Mexico.

I have one exactly like that one that I got relatively cheap; I think because it was so cleaned up that it looks new.

Yes, I am going to make an offer on it. Just wanted to first make sure its original and second that its value is hurt a bit by polishing it. Over all a nice example but the patina is gone.
