This plate smells fishy

That guy ignored my message too 🤣
I think that this guy knows he is cheating people and not just selling items that he truly believes to be genuine. I looked up past and current auctions (lots of Confederate items…so he claims) and most of them are the same story. All with the same type of hand written receipt..crumpled up of course to look old. Some within a couple of digits apart on the receipt numbers. All at crazy high prices for 28 years ago. His fakes to most people here are obvious, but unless he has some friends bidding up his auctions he has bilked some people out of serious money. I hate people that pray on the passions of others by selling obvious fakes. It is truly disgraceful.

The really sad thing is he has a 98.7% approval rate. That means all these different people out there think they have something really special.

The day will come when their estate has to be sold off and the real experts take a look at it and have to tell them that the thing that was going to finance their retirement is a complete fake.

I agree with you 100%
I think that's why it makes me both angry and sad at the same time.

Same seller! Does the description sound familiar?
It's a crime if someone actually paid that much. It really disgusts me that people like this can operate freely on eBay. Check out the bogus reviews from museum curators who vouch for what a wonderful seller of true confederate artifacts he is.

This is awful - and sold! Ah, well, ¨a fool and his money...¨

It really should be criminal. Even if you know absolutely nothing about these items those listings are peppered with red flags.
I would normally be all for ¨caveat emptor¨ and all that (showing off my Latin degree ) but I agree that this rises to the level of a false sale at the very least. It should at least be against site policy to allow an action which is one degree removed from false advertising.

Yeah, there's plenty of reproduction items listed cheaply. Nothing wrong with it as long as you're being honest. But to try to knowingly sell a reproduction as an authentic item with a complete ******** story is just being wrong.

Pretty much the same description for all of this guy's garbage. And he always quotes an offer for thousands of dollars that he passed up so he could sell it on Ebay. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Watch the plan backfire and he ends up selling the dogdoo on eBay as "General Lee's horse poop, found outside his HQ in Gettysburg after the battle. Starting bid of 1500."

Yup lot of that goes on in the art world. Inherited a painting by an Irish painter of a Piper from 1820 appraised at $7500. Contacted Bonhams, Christies, and Southerbys with all saying it's worth was $750-1250 on a good day that they don't auction off art valued under $3000. Good friend Executor of his Mothers estate with art pieces appraised at $10,000. Goes to experts and they say sorry maybe each worth $100. I can only wonder why Appraisers do this, maybe help you out in case of loss in maybe a fire. On the flip side of the coin my Mother had many picture/prints on the wall. When her time came and nobody wanted many of them I took them to a Consignment shop. One I thought was only worth $25-50 went for $900!!!
Also I have to wonder why E-bay allows these Crooks to operate on their site? Guess E-bay is all about the money too.

That is such an awful repop plate and the description is laughable!
From is listing: "This is an Original 1861's Confederate States Union Artillery Belt Buckle for sale. Shipping charge plus Insurance included. Home pick up is welcome". 🙄
Confederate States Union Artillery indeed!
Now you want to talk about rare!!!
What's next "Genuine WW1 1914 - 1918 velcro strap from NASA Apollo 11 capsule?"
