I watched The Passerby again last night, hard to tell how many times I've seen it. I caught something I never had before though. The lady of the house's husband who shows up as next to last said he died at Yellow Tavern. I couldn't tell if his first name was Jud and Jeb. I know from research just now the name of the wife of Jeb Stuart was not the same as on this episode but still there is an officer (of which I couldn't tell what rank) who was killed at Yellow Tavern and possibly named Jeb. It would appear to me that even if the name is Jud Jeb Stuart may be the subject here. Did anyone else think this?

That's a good catch, didn't notice that detail. I wouldn't doubt it's a subtle wink to any ACW fans watching the program. Instead of it being a generic confederate cavalry commander, he threw in a little Easter egg for the audience. Kind of like how Ken Burns appears on screen during the movie Gettysburg

Lavinia's husband "Jud Godwin" appears to be a cavalry captain, as evidenced by the insignia (three bars) on his uniform coat...(and the sergeant calls him "captain" near the end). His coat has a light colored, possibly yellow, collar (The Battle of Yellow Tavern, being, as you mention, a cavalry action in 1864...where Jeb Stuart also fell). The top bar of his collar insignia has been removed, probably to render the uniform more "worn"...

Another 1860s episode of Twilight Zone similar to the above is "Still Valley" about Confederate scout Joe Parradine.
