Well its not Gettysburg, Slavery or Black Confederate so I thought I would try a little levity. I grew up listening to Jerry Clower and Justin Wilson with my Grandpappy but Lewis is right behind them.
Justin Wilson spent his last years about 25 miles away from me in Summit, Mississippi.
His buddy Paul Ott Carruth (who passed on last month) convinced him to buy a house at Lake Dixie Springs.
Although I can't call Clower, Wilson and Carruth friends of mine, I was fortunate to meet all three of the guys multiple times over the years,
They were all super people, very humble and just as funny 'in person' as they were on stage or in front of the camera.
Love how he speaks without any "r's" - except when absolutely necessary. "......one loooone Confedahet soljah standin up on Stoooone Mountahn, got his saybah drawn..."
I was fortunate to have booked Lewis twice to appear at Ole Miss for the Student Programming Board and he was hilarious. Sad that he has passed on but he left laughter behind where ever he went.
Regards
David
