Thank you for posting this image. Quite stunning and compelling. It really does bring home how young these soldiers were. When I do my presentations, I often ask my 8th grade audience, the boys, if they are waiting to muster out, and if they are going infantry or cavalry. The looks on their faces is priceless. Some of these kids could easily pass for several years older than they are too!
