"Texas Rising"

I've enjoyed the series so far. I really wasn't expecting that much historical accuracy, but was interested since 2 of my ancestors fought in the Texas war for independance, and one was actually at San Jacinto and helped capture Santa Anna.
My 3rd great grandfather Mike Sessom was a Texas Ranger, and was with John Coffee Hays Ranger Company.
My 4th great grandfather, Cpt. William Ware, was Captain of the Second Company of Col. Sidney Sherman's Second Regiment.
I'm also indirectly related to Sam Houston, through the Forrest side of the family. So, I have DEEP roots in Texas, and have heard stories and legends of these guys from family - so I have no idea what is fact or legend... But, I do like the series, whether it is historically accurate or not. From what I understand, Bill Paxton is also a distant relative of Sam Houston as well (Houston's mother was Elizabeth Blair Paxton), so I bet it was an honor for him to portray an ancestor!
