A real shame that the Museum will be closing and the Collection will be split.

I took these pics a couple of months ago showing what an amazing Museum it is/was .
Below ; All objects in this case belonged to Brigadier Gabriel C. Wharton.
Below is a Field Coat worn by Major/Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant. Also a cigar smoked by grant on July 3rd 1863 Cold Harbor.
Below : Dress Uniform and Riding Boots worn by Major General Benjamin Franklin Butler.
Below: Battle flag of the 2nd Texas Infantry Regiment.
Below: A lock of Jeb Stuarts Hair and a Compass, Spurs and Pocket Watch.
A Sabre gifted to Jeb Stuart from Major Heros Von Borcke.
Below: All items belonging to Lt. Colonel John G. Walker. 8th Texas Cavalry, Terry's Texas Rangers.
Below: Saddle Blanket and Field Sword used by Major General Phillip Henry Sheridan.
Below: Model of U.S.S Tecumseh and a Rain's barrel type Torpedo.
C.S.S Alabama & C.S.S Hunley.
Below : U.S.S Cairo.
I'll be interested to see where the following 2 massive Diorama's end up.
The Battle of Palmito Ranch Texas.
Battle of the Wilderness.
Artillery Battery Flag of the 2nd Tennessee Light Artillery, commanded by Captain John Morton which served as the primary Artillery unit of Nathan Bedford Forrest Cavalry Corps.
It's sad that this collection may soon be split-up. Not sure if or when the Museum will be closed but if you can make it, it's well worth a visit.
