#21 Elizabeth Violet McLaws King
b. 15 January 1870 d. 28 September 1954; the youngest child of Major General Lafayette McLaws and his wife, Emily Allison (Taylor) McLaws. Elizabeth was a member of the Savannah Chapter #2 UDC. In 1912, Elizabeth married Edward Postell King, Jr.* who was 14 years her junior. King was born in Atlanta, GA in 1884 and became a career US Army officer. He served as Assistant to the Chief of Artillery in WWI and Director of War Plans at the US Army War College. He was promoted to Brigadier General and served as 2nd ranking ground officer for Douglas McArthur in the Philippines. He surrendered the troops at Bataan before the infamous "Bataan Death March" where he was captured, along with his entire force, by the Japanese, and imprisoned for three and a half years. Elizabeth died 28 September 1954 at Saluda NC and was buried in Flat Rock. General King died 31 August 1958 in Brunswick, GA and was buried beside her in Flat Rock NC.

*General Edward Postell King, Jr's grandfather was John Gadsden King. He organized Captain J. Gadsden King's Company of Artillery which became Captain Co F 1st South Carolina Artillery.
 
#17 Columbus W. Horton
b. 14 February 1838. Enlisted 20 May 1861 as a Private in Company I 10th Georgia Infantry at Fayetteville, GA for the war. Retired by examining board and dropped from roll 28 July 1864. Surrendered at Macon, GA 30 April 1865. d. 19 June 1920 and buried at Fayetteville, GA.

#23 Joseph J Camp
b. 13 August 1845. Enlisted 20 May 1861 (he must have lied about his age because he would have been 15 years old at the time) as a Private in Company E 10th Georgia Infantry at Jonesboro, Clayton County, GA for the war. Admitted to Chimborazo Hospital No. 4 on 24 April 1862 for debility; returned to duty 1 May 1862. Absent without leave 16 September 1864 and recorded as deserted.
