I would also like to see a really good Forrest and a really good Wheeler. And maybe the lovely Marcellus....
I like your Kilpatrick (even though the man himself makes me shudder). You can really see the Anderson Cooper relationship in yours, with those icy blue eyes!

Morbid perhaps but I would like to see the photos of the dead at Antietam and Gettysburg colorized. I have poured over those pics in black and white since I was a kid....colorization just might reveal details that are new.
This one would be a good photograph to tinker with in color--it will be interesting what color our professional colorist chooses for the dresses and the poor 'young' man will have work on the flag...perhaps its too 'busy.'
I'd enjoy seeing colorization of horses also... give them some CPR as has been given to Generals in portraits.

We've had an opportunity to see some colorization of the dead on the battlefield at Gettysburg. I agree to the fact that colorization 'adds to' the study. Our eyes are 'colorized' and transmits such to the brain. If done respectfully--I think it would be extremely helpful. At times it just amplifies the qualities of the photographer and, in my personal opinion, raises my respect for them 1000 times, as they didn't have auto features, light meters, etc. I'm amazed how brilliant these photos come out with help of 'color.'

I would be grateful for any new and interesting colorized photographs to study and give Wilber a hand at all us wanting 'color' photographs.
It would be extremely difficult to have someone undertake the colorizing of the flag --it would be beyond labor taxing and this place shouldn't be too much work as not to enjoy the entire site. It is up to those who can color so well though

I don't know the rules of double post but I feel this doesn't fit into my previous one. I reckon this should be changed slightly. It's perfectly fine to request a specific person, I have no problem finding that person based just on his last name, however the image that will be colored will be chosen by me, and not you - which might prove to be a problem since you have an image in mind, and I'll color an entirely different one - so in the future, if you have something in mind, request it with an imgur link of a good resolution/quality image, possibly some color (if you know it), or if you simply wish to see said person in color, let me know and I'll find a specific portrait to my liking.
Also - as I'm still young and an amateur historian (if you'd call it that), and new to this whole coloring gig, what kind of union uniforms were there? I've seen black ones, were these common?
