At the start of January I decided to spend the entire 2016 calendar year researching the battle of Gettysburg. I have made two trips out so far this year. And i will certainly be making more, i live only an hour and a half away. My girlfriend and I make it a point to hike lesser known parts of the field. We also try to catch any battlefield walks that occur on the days we are out there. While walking through a trail behind the Slyder house it dawned on me that there are some people who are unable to make it to these secluded parts. It might be from age or a disability or Gettysburg is just too far to visit or just not enough time to see the entire field. But i want to try and help bring the park to people who love it but are unable enjoy all of it. I feel the major points of interest are well photographed and in abundance. So what I want to do is take photo requests for parts of the battlefield that are out of the way.If there is a field or some angle of the Rose woods you would like to see please ask. The far side of seminary Ridge or the saucer shaped depression behind Benners hill. Whatever part of the field, I will do my best to get the angle and direction you are looking for. My hope is that it will help people understand the ground and aid in research or just plain fun. I can post the photos back here or send them via email. Disclaimer sadly i am not a professional photographer but modern cameras are nice to me and i can get some fairly good shots. To request photos just reply to this thread i will see it in my notifications and will be checking back here regularly.
